The Blightville Books

​Greetings and salutations, spooky ones. Author Sal Cangemi here. I hope this blog finds you all happy, healthy, and whole (instead of chopped up in tiny pieces!).
Welcome to my site. Today I would like to tell you a little about the BLIGHTVILLE BOOKS, the first of which, MR. SPLENDID is out now through D&T Publishing. The Blightville series is for younger readers (middle grade), and I and thrilled to get you guys reading. The Blightville Books follow Trevor Turner, Stacy Owens, and Ryan Mack as they battle ghosts, monsters, ghouls, and, scariest of all, 7th grade!
However, before I get into the books, I would like to take a moment to dispel some rumors I have recently heard about yours truly. The first of which is that I sleep in a coffin. Not true! I sleep in a bed like all of you. I stack numerous pillows around me, creating a coffin-like structure, but it is undoubtedly not a coffin.
The second ugly untruth I read in an article about me recently is that I made a deal with the devil—exchanging my eternal soul for the ideas for my books. Not so! I have never met the devil. In fact, I don’t even believe in the devil. The closest I ever came to encountering a devil was when my partner caught me trying to eat cookies for breakfast. She promptly snatched the bag from me and shoved a bowl of unsweetened mush into my hands. She said the stuff was good for me, but it tasted like paste.
Okay, now you know I am just a (mostly) average guy who writes admittedly unusual tales. So, about the first Blightville Book:

Welcome to BLIGHTVILLE, where monsters are real, madness is the norm, and the uncanny is a daily occurrence. Trevor Turner and his friends, sci-fi nerd Stacy Owens and jock Ryan Mack, happen to be at the park the day a perfect house appears without explanation. Unfortunately, it does not take long before they realize it’s up to them to stop the man living in the odd place, a charming but creepy ghoul named Mr. Splendid, who puts the whole town under his spell, leaving their families, friends, and all of Blightville zombified.
Now the three friends must stop Mr. Splendid before it’s too late.
